Number of flights on Baku – Tel Aviv – Baku air route to be increased

As of July 11, 2014, Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL) will increase the
number of flights on the Baku, Azerbaijan – Tel Aviv, IsraelBaku air route. The Baku/Geidar Aliev International Airport reported to the APA-Economics
News Agency, Azerbaijan, the
flights will be operated on Wednesdays – from Baku to Tel Aviv at 09:35, and at 17:50 in
the opposite direction.

In addition, during the period between July 20 and August 31, 2014, AZAL
changes its flight schedule for Baku – Tel Aviv –Baku flights
operated on Sundays. During this period, departure from Baku will be at 18:00 (local time), arrival in
Tel Aviv will be at 19:25. Departure from Tel Aviv will be at 20:45, arrival in Baku will be at
02:15.

Passenger air traffic at Kutaisi International Airport quadrupled

Passenger air traffic at Kutaisi
International Airport

has quadrupled.

As reported by the Association of Airports, during the first quarter of
2013, this airport served about 13,000 passengers and, during the same period
in 2014, this figure has exceeded 50,000.

The airport operates its flights to Kiev,Donetsk, Vilnius,Warsaw, Moscow, Kharkov, Minsk and Katowice.

Overall, the airport served 188,682 passengers in 2013.

Air Astana offers special airfares for Kazakh residents stranded in Turkey

The Kazakhstan’s flag
air carrier, Air Astana, offers special airfares for Kazakh residents stranded inTurkey,
Tengrinews.kz reports.

“Due to the cancellation of
charter flights from Antalya, Turkey, to Kazakhstan by another airline, Air
Astana expresses its serious concern about the situation of Kazakh citizens
deprived of the opportunity to return to their homeland, and informs on organizing
transportation of Kazakh tourists on a special low one way tariff costing U.S.
$200 including all passenger and airport fees in economy class, as regards such
destinations, as Antalya – Almaty and Antalya – Astana,” the Air Company said
in a message posted on its page in Facebook.

One notes that this offer is valid until July 10, 2014. Earlier, there
was a report that another air company from Kazakhstan,
SCAT Airlines, delivered Kazakh tourists from Turkey, as they caught in a
difficult situation. We remind herein that hundreds of Kazakhstan tourists could not fly out from Turkeybecause of the absence of the air carrier.

Air Astana increases its flight frequency on Astana – Pavlodar domestic air route

The national carrier of Kazakhstan,
Air Astana, informs on increasing its frequency of flights on Astana – Pavlodar domestic air
route up to six times a week starting from July 1, 2014.

From now on, these flights are operated daily, except Sundays.

SCAT Airlines, Kazakhstan, delivers Kazakh tourists from Antalya and Bodrum

SCAT Airlines, realizing the position of Kazakh citizens left without
the possibility of returning to their homeland, and considering an appeal of
the initiative group of tourists from Turkey on organizing charter flights at
the request of individuals, as well as understanding the social responsibility
of the company in the role of the Kazakh air carrier and considering the
recommendation of the Civil Aviation Committee under the Ministry of Transport
and Communications (MOTC), agreed to organize its flight # VSV 5042 en route Bodrum,
Turkey – Almaty, Kazakhstan, Zakon.kz reports quoting the Air Company’s Press Service.

196 tourists departed at 02:30, local time, from Bodrum  and arrived in Almaty at 10:30 am on July 3,
2014.

One should note that some customers of the Gulnar Tour Company, under
the terms of their agreements with the tour operator, should have been
delivered in separate regions of Kazakhstan. By supporting
passengers in flight abroad, we hope that the tour operator will meet its
obligations to customers in terms of logistics of flights / transportation
within the country (in Kazakhstan).

SCAT Airlines operated this flight without advance payment while
receiving only a written guarantee from Gulnar Tour of the subsequent payment.

Delegation of Turkmenistan law enforcement agencies study German experience for airport security

A delegation consisting of employees of the transport police, Ministry
of Internal Affairs, Turkmenistan,
the State Migration Service and the Ministry of National Security of
Turkmenistan have just finished their three-day training and familiarization
visit to Munich, Germany, that was organized by the
OSCE.

The purpose of this trip was concluded in familiarity with the best
practices in the field of security management at airports. The delegation of
power departments of Turkmenistanhad the opportunity to observe security operations at Munich International Airport, Germany.
The members of the delegation discussed the issues related with interagency
cooperation in airport security with their colleagues from Germany.

“Coordinated actions of law
enforcement structures and airports’ security services play an important role
in preventing terrorist attacks and other crimes that may threaten the safety
and security of airports,” said Ivo Petrov, Ambassador and Leader of the OSCE
Centre in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

According to the Ambassador, these measures are of particular importance
due to the fact that Turkmenistanis going to open a new modern international airport in its capital, Ashgabat.

The program of the visit includes familiarity with the baggage processing
and screening system, passport control and law enforcement databases, as well
as passenger screening methods and control during landing, the customs control procedures
and security provision in airport buildings.

The participants of this visit exchanged their views on how to apply new
technologies to enhance the security of airports, and considered the advantages
of membership in the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the  Turkmenistan.ru portal reported on July 3,

Manas International Airport OJSC, Chinese corporation to implement projects worth US $1 billion

When realizing the National Sustainable Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic,
the  Manas International Airport OJSC and
the Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Ltd (BUCG LLC)  signed a memorandum on July 1, 2014, and
agreed to cooperate.

The list of projects includes construction of an international trading
platform for wholesale and retail sales at Manas International Airport,
reconstruction of Batken and Issyk-Kul international airports, construction of
a major transit terminal at Batken International Airportand construction of the tourist-class terminal at Issyk-Kul International Airport(Tamchi, Issyk-Kul Region, Kyrgyzstan)
to develop the tourism industry in the Issyk-Kul Region.

The total cost of all these projects is estimated to U.S. $1 billion.

The State Corporation, Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Ltd (BUCG LLC)
is the largest construction company with a turnover of 54 billion Yuan (US $8.65
billion), 26,000 employees and 120 subsidiaries worldwide. It has completed over
240 major projects in Chinaand around the world, it built all the Olympic venues in China for the Beijing 2008 Olympics including
the Bird’s Nest stadium, and the third terminal of the airport in Beijing and it won a tender to construct a new airport in
the south of Chinaworth U.S. $ 5 billion.

New international airport in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, to be built during three years

As a part of the treaties in SCO concluded by the leaders of the Kyrgyz
Republic and China on June 30, 2014, as well as for the establishment of
international air logistics hub, one signed a memorandum between the Manas International
Airport (MIA) OJSC and China Machine Engineering Corporation (CMEC), a state
corporation in China, to build a new airport at the new land plot near Osh,
Kyrgyzstan.

“According to preliminary data, the Chinese state-owned corporation
would provide up to U.S. $300 million through Eximbank or the Development Bank
of the Chinese People’s Republic,” said A.S. Ibraimov, Chairperson, Board of Directors,
MIA OJSC. “Thus, a ultramodern multi-functional international airport of
regional significance will be built during three years, which can become a
regional hub of freight and passenger air traffic.”

Dair Tokobaev, Deputy Chairperson, Board of Directors, MIA OJSC, noted, “Construction
of a new international airport in the city of Osh, given its geographical
location, has a great potential. Passenger air traffic may be increased due to
migrants from Uzbekistan andTajikistan.
This is the first case in Kyrgyzstanfor 20 years when one has agreed to implement the project of such magnitude.”

Tajik national air carrier increase the number of flights to three Russian cities

Tajik national carrier, Tajik Air, has increased the number of flights
to the Russian cities of Novosibirsk,
Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg.

Since June 24, Tajik Air has reportedly operated two flights a week to Novosibirsk – on Tuesdays
and Saturdays.  A ticket for this flight
costs EUR 180.

Tajik Air has also operated twice-weekly service to Yekaterinburg since
July 1.  The flight is operated on
Tuesdays and Thursdays and a ticket for the Dushanbe – Yekaterinburg flight costs EUR 240. 

Tajik Air is expected to start twice-weekly service to St. Petersburg beginning on July 9.  The flight will be operated on Wednesdays and
Saturdays and a ticket for this flight will cost 240 Euros.

Tajik Air (Tajikistan Airlines) is the national airline of Tajikistan.  The airline has its main hub at the Dushanbe airport, and it
retains a secondary focus point at the Hudzhand airport.  The company started operations on September
3, 1924 as Tajik Aviation. Its first route was Bukharato Dushanbe,
served by Junkers F-13 aircraft.  It is
the sixth oldest airline still in operation.

Tajik Air now serves the following destinations: China (Urumqi); Iran
(Tehran, Mashhad); Kazakhstan (Almaty); Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek); Russia (Irkutsk,
Moscow, Novosibirsk, St Petersburg, Samara, Sochi, Surgut, and Yekaterinburg);
Tajikistan (Horog and Hudzhand); and United Arab Emirates (Sharjah).

Two telescopic ladders to be installed in new terminal at Dushanbe International Airport

New telescopic ladders (hydraulic hoses) are being installed in the
terminal at Dushanbe International Airport (DIA), Tajikistan.

Mahmadyusuf Shodiev, Chief of the Press Office, DIA, reported to the Avesta
News Agency, Tajikistan, these telescopic ladders were produced in France and
were delivered to Tajikistan by motor transport. At present, both French and
local experts are engaged in their installation.

“According to the project aimed to build a terminal at Dushanbe International Airport, two telescopic ladders
will be installed, as they can simultaneously serve four aircraft,” Mr. Shodiev
noted.

According to him, the covered walkways for passengers to go towards
planes and back are separated and they operate independently.

When speaking about the project for the construction of the terminal, Mr.
Shodiev noted that, to date, one has already done over 70% of the total volume
of construction works.

In addition, work on installation of elevators, escalators, directional
boards, registration desks, border and customs checkpoints is nearing to completion.

The project is implemented by the VINCI Company, France, involving the builders
from Italy, France, Portugal,Turkey and Tajikistan.
