Kyrgyz Parliament believes it is necessary to resume air services with Dzhalal-Abad in Kyrgyzstan

The Kyrgyz
Parliament says it is necessary to resume air links with Dzhalal-Abad, Saidulla
Nyshanov (Ata Meken Faction), Member of Parliament, said today.

He
noted that the runway at Dzhalal-Abad airport has already been repaired, but
the flights are not made. “Currently, the population of the region has to go toOsh, Kyrgyzstan, to fly somewhere, and
this leads to additional costs and waste of time”, Mr. Nyshanov said.

The
Member of Parliament asked a Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government in
the Parliament to send a corresponding request to relevant state agencies.

Other
deputies also touched their issued related with the civil aviation sector and,
in connection with which, Vice-Speaker Nurbek Alimbekov who is presiding at
today’s session of the Parliament asked the relevant committee of the Parliament
to consider all parliamentary inquiries.

Latvian airBaltic can resume regular flights to Baku

Latvia’s airBaltic air carrier can resume
the regular flights between Baku and Riga, Latvia’s
Minister of Economy Dana Reizniece-Ozola said during the press conference in Baku.

The
airBaltic company carries out flights to Baku,
only in summer, since the principal demand for flights is observed in this
season for tourism, said the minister.

Dana
Reizniece-Ozola pointed out that the resumption of regular flights can enable
the countries to expand the bilateral relations.

She
reminded that in early 2015, during the visit to Baku, Latvia’s
Minister of Transport Anrijs Matiss held talks on resuming the regular flights.

Dana
Reizniece-Ozola noted that it is very important both for increasing the tourist
flow and for developing the business.

The
airBaltic company carries out Baku-Riga flights on Sundays in summer, while in
the opposite direction the flights are carried out on Saturdays.

The
flights are carried out by Boeing 737 airliner.
The return ticket costs
$330.

AirCairo clarifies situation with Baku – Sharm el-Sheikh flights

AirCairo,
the Egyptian charter airline, owned by the country’s largest EgyptAir, requested
slots from Azerbaijan for
flights on the Baku– Sharm el-Sheikh air route to be operated since December 25, 2015, the State
Civil Aviation Administration of Azerbaijan told Trend.

AirCairo
has permission for flights during the period from October 25, 2015, until March
25, 2016, but the timing of the start of flights is constantly postponed.

“Because
of the Russian aircraft’s air crash over the Sinai Peninsula and uncertainty in
the market, there has been no any accurate information so far about the timing
of the start of flights on the Baku – Sharm el-Sheikh air route”, the
Administration said.

Helicopter crashes in Russia, 15 dead

12:30 (GMT+4) – The Mi-8 helicopter of Russia’s
Turukhan airlines, which made a hard landing near the Igarka town of the
country’s Krasnoyarsk krai, was technically sound and the weather conditions
were favorable for the flight, Elena Yastrebkova, official representative of
the regional division of the Ministry of Emergency Situations told RIA Novosti.

She
said the helicopter crashed into the bank of Yenisei River,
two kilometers from the Igarka airport. The airport staff noticed it and came
for help first of all.

12:06 (GMT+4) – The Mi-8 helicopter has crashed
in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk krai due to the technical failure, a source in the
country’s law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti Nov.26.

11:39 (GMT+4) – Fifteen people were killed as the
Mi-8 helicopter crashed in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk krai, Oksana Gorbunova, the
official representative of West Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office told RIA
Novosti Nov.26.

She
added that 10 people are receiving intense care, while one is being recovered
from the helicopter, according to the latest data.

10:52 (GMT+4) – Twelve people were killed as the
Mi-8 helicopter crashed in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk krai, Oksana Gorbunova, the
official representative of West Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office told RIA
Novosti Nov.26.

10:26 (GMT+4) Eight people were killed as the
Mi-8 helicopter crashed in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk krai, while another 17 people
survived, a source in local law enforcement agencies told TASS news agency.

“There
were 22 passengers and three crew members onboard the helicopter. Eight people
were killed and the others were injured, according to the preliminary
data,” the source said.

The
source said the helicopter made hard landing in difficult access area, its
fuselage is destroyed.

Tajik Air resumes its flights to Surgut, Russia

Tajik Air, the Tajik national airline, resumes its flights en route Dushanbe, TajikistanSurgut, RussiaDushanbe.

The Tajik Air’s Press Service reported to the Asia Plus News Agency, Tajikistan,
the Airline starts operating these flights with the onset of the winter season.
One expects the first flight will take place on December 7, 2015.

Flights on this air route will be carried out once a week, on Mondays,
on the Boeing-737 airliner.

The flight duration is three hours and 30 minutes. One way ticket costs EUR
210+.

Currently, Tajik Air operates its regular flights to the following cities
in Russia: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk; also, it
flies to Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek), Kazakhstan (Almaty), Iran (Tehran), China
(Urumqi), Turkey (Istanbul) and India (New Delhi).

From the Khujand International Airport,
regular flights are operated to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk,
Yekaterinburg and Surgut.
As regards domestic destinations, the Air Company flies from the capital city
of Dushanbe to Khujand,
Khorog and Vanch.

Currently, the Tajik Air’s air fleet has 37 aircraft, 12 of which are
operated on flights including two Boeing 757-200s, two Boeing 737-400s, one
Boeing 737-300, one MA-60, two AN-28s, one AN-26 and three Mi-8 MTV helicopters.
The remaining 25 aircraft, mainly of the USSR production, are on long-term
storage.

Currently, the Air Company management is considering potential upgrade of
its air fleet with aircraft of modern Western technology.

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development increases funding for airport reconstruction in Khujand, Tajikistan, up to US $ 3.9 million

The European
Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provides the international
airport in Khujand, Tajikistan with additional US $ 900
thousand to modernize the runway and purchase of monitoring equipment.

The
EBRD representative office reported to the Asia Plus News Agency, Tajikistan, thus, the Bank increases the amount
of the loan provided to Khujand International Airportup to US $ 3.9 million. The amount of the original loan, agreed in 2013, was US
$ 3 million.

 “The modernization program is carried out at
the international airport in Khujand, the second largest city in Tajikistan.
Reconstruction of this airport will increase the level of air traffic safety,
particularly in bad weather conditions”, The EBRD representative office said.

It is
expected that an urgent modernization of the runway will take place in this project,
as well as certain works will be done to procure and install lighting
equipment. In addition, long-range beacons and radio navigation equipment will
also be purchased and installed.

“Khujand is an ancient town, which was a
central part in the world trade at one time. For centuries, Khujand has been one
of the main points of the northern route of the Silk Road.
Nowadays, we are proud to have the opportunity to support the city in improving
its relations with the world through the modernization of the international
airport, which serves the northern part of Tajikistan”,
said Ekaterina Miroschnik, EBRD Director for Infrastructure in Russia and Central Asia.

According
to the EBRD representative office in Tajikistan, out of the 700,000
airport passengers per year, the majority are migrant workers and entrepreneurs
who send their remittances and promote business activity in the region.

Since
the beginning of its activities in Tajikistan, the EBRD has already invested
about US $ 610 million to the republic.

Flight recorders from Boeing crash-landed in Osh sent to Moscow, Russia – Air Company

Flight recorders of the Boeing aircraft belonged to Avia Traffic
Company, Kyrgyzstan, that made
an emergency landing at the Osh International Airportin Osh, southern Kyrgyzstan,
in the morning on November 22, 2015, have been sent to Moscow for decoding, a Spokesperson, Avia
Traffic Company, said to Interfax on Wednesday.

According to the source, decoding of these flight recorders will take a
few days. He noted that the decision to send flight recorders to Moscow for decoding was made due to the fact that Kyrgyzstandoes not have necessary equipment. Air Company representatives have refrained
so far from any other comments.

However, a Government’s commission was formed in Osh on the instructions of the Prime Minister
of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariyev to investigate the causes of this crash-landing.  Representatives of the International Aviation
Committee (IAC) participate in the commission’s work.

Members of the commission have not yet been available for any comments.

On the eve, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Kyrgyzstan reported that
the aircraft, while approaching the airport, the plane’s right engine and
hydraulic system failed operating for unknown reasons.

Therefore, the Commander of the aircraft decided to make an emergency
landing, and during the landing, the aircraft rolled about 1,500 meters on its
fuselage on the runway.

In the morning, the Avia Traffic Company’s Boeing 737 was flying en
route KrasnoyarskOshand, when landing in poor visibility due to heavy fog in Osh, it skidded off the runway; as a result, the
aircraft damaged its landing gear and a wing. There were 159 people on board including
153 passengers and six crew members.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, 10 people received various
injuries and bruises during this emergency landing but there were no any serious
injuries.
