Astana – Dushanbe direct flight may be launched ahead of EXPO 2017

Kazakh residents to be granted access to Duty Free during flights within EEU

Kazakh residents will have an access to make procurements at Duty Free
shops when moving inside the EEU (Eurasian Economic Union), Tengrinews.kz
reports citing the Press Service of the State Revenue Committee under the
Ministry of Finance, Kazakhstan.

The possibility of selling good products in a duty-free shop is fixed in
the draft of the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union. The response to
the request from Tenginews.kz explained, this amendment is introduced to develop
the Duty Free-Trade industry and to expand the purchasing power of individuals.

One also specified that such a system of double price tags for good
products in duty-free shops is universally applied in the countries of the
European Union.

“The Article no. 243 of the draft Code defines the list of persons who have
the right to buy the good products placed under the customs procedure of a
duty-free shop:

1) The individuals who are travelling away from the customs territory of
the EEU;

2) The individuals who are arriving in the customs territory of the EEU;

3) The individuals who are departing from one Member State to another one and the individuals
who are entering one Member State from another one;

4) Diplomatic missions, consular offices, representative offices of
states to international organizations, international organizations or their
representative offices located in the customs territory of the EEU, as well as
members of the diplomatic staff of the diplomatic mission, consular officers
and members of their families who live with them, personnel (employees and officials)
of representative offices of States to international organizations,
international organizations or their representative offices;

5) Other organizations or their representative offices and their
personnel, if such implementation is envisaged in accordance with the
legislation of the Member State, in which territory such organizations or their
representative offices are located”, the State Revenues Committee under the
Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan notes.

One expects that the terms for the Customs Code to enter into force will
be adopted during the meetings for presidents of the EEU states in May 2017.
Earlier, it was expected that the Code would come into effect on July 1, 2017,
but then information appeared that this date could be shifted to January 1,

KLM not to fly from Kazakhstan to Amsterdam in winter

KLM will operate flights from Kazakhstanto Amsterdam,
The Netherlands, in April – November only, according to Tengrinews.kz. The air
carrier reported about this on its Facebook page.

“We are forced to report that, starting from the end of October 2017, KLM
will switch to seasonal flights from Amsterdamto Kazakhstan.
Flights on the existing Amsterdam– Astana/Almaty circular air route will be carried out only during the summer
schedule, acting in April – October. During the winter navigation (November – March
inclusive), flights will not be operated”, the airline informed.

As one explained, this change in the program of flights is the result of
optimization of the KLM’s air route network in accordance with the dynamics of
demand for flights from Kazakhstan.

“Air France and KLM will continue to be present during the winter air navigation season in Kazakhstan, thanks to the code-sharing agreement with Air Astana
on the Astana – Paris flights, offering flight changes on the air route network
of those air carriers flying through the Charles De Gaulle airport”, the
airline added.

Almaty – Tbilisi flights to fly daily since June 2017

Since June 2017, Air Astana’s flights en route Almaty,KazakhstanTbilisi, Georgia,
will fly daily, Kazinform reports with reference to the Air Astana’s Press Service.

“Starting from June 2, 2017 Almaty – Tbilisiflights will be carried out daily, and the number of flights en route Astana – Tbilisi will be increased
up to four times a week”, Air Astana reported.

The airline added that flights from Astana will be carried out on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Direct flight to connect Kazakhstan with German Hannover

national carrier Air Astana will re-launch direct flights between Kazakh Kostanai
and German Hannover starting from 17 June 2017, the company said in a message.

flights will be operated by Airbus 320 two times per week – on Saturday and
Sunday. The duration of the flight from Kostanai to Hannover is five hours and 10
minutes, from Hannover to Kostanai – five hours.

Astana has been operating since 2002, and today its route network includes over
60 international and regional destinations.
