Georgian civil aviation market grew by 30% – rating of the largest airlines

In 2017, the Georgian civil aviation market grew by 30%. The number of passengers carried by Georgian and foreign airlines to/from Georgian airports amounted to 3.98 million.

According to the Georgia’s Civil Aviation Agency, Turkish Airlines takes the first place on the civil aviation market of Georgia. In 2017, this air company rendered a service to 463,000 passengers, which accounts for 12% of the market. Airzena served by 39% more passengers in 2017, as a result, this air carrier increased its market share up to 10%.

The top ten airlines by number of transported passengers operating in Georgia are as follows:

10) EL AL – 117,129 passengers, market share is 3%;

9) Qatari Airlines – 119,727 passengers, market share is 3%;

8) Ural Airlines – 155,217 passengers, market share is 4%;

7) S7 Airlines – 174,381 passengers, market share is 4%;

6) Aeroflot – 198,754 passengers, market share is  5%;

5) Fly Dubai – 244,208 passengers, market share is 6%;

4) Ukrainian International Airlines – 282,616 passengers, market share is 7%;

3) Wizzair – 313,325 passengers, market share is 8%;

2) Airzena – 385,894 passengers, market share is 10%;

1) Turkish Airlines – 463,840 passengers, market share is 12%.
