Plans to spend about US $ 3.9 million to improve operation of Dushanbe International Airport

The implementation of the second phase of the project named “Improvement of the Dushanbe International Airport” is planned to spend about US $ 3.9 million.

One expects that one of these days the Lower House of Tajik Parliament will consider the Grant Agreement between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to run the second phase of the project aimed to improve the airport in Dushanbe, Tajikistan,” according to the Avesta News Agency, Tajikistan.

According to the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan, the Grant Agreement for a total of Yen 356 million (about US $ 3.9 million) was signed in Dushanbe on May 31, 2017.

To implement the first phase of this project, which was signed on September 29, 2014, JICA allocated 1.9 billion Japanese yens (US $ 17 million).

The purpose of this project is to build and install the necessary equipment for the cargo terminal and increase carrying capacities to manage and take aircraft of all types at the Dushanbe International Airport.
