Server of Georgian Civil Aviation Agency committed cyberattack

On May 2, 2018 the server of the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Georgia, was subjected to a cyberattack.

According to the CAA, the virus damaged the database, programs and email addresses of the Agency.

“To correct problems as a result of this attack, all relevant departments participate with the Agency. For airlines and aviation enterprises, operators and aviation specialists, the following e-mails are currently in effect: safety@gcaa.ge; flightstandards@gcaa.ge; air@gcaa.ge; cds@gcaa.ge  and office@gcaa.ge. With the help of fixed telecommunication networks of international aviation and other alternative methods, the CAA has already provided information to all the necessary addressees. The Civil Aviation Agency continues to work in the usual mode. Aviation enterprises and other interested parties are serviced without any delays,” the CAA said in its statement.
