Passenger traffic at Georgian airports increased by 32%

According to the information from the Georgian Airports Association under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Georgia, according to the data for Jan-May 2018, Georgian airports transported 1,608,124 passengers by regular and charter flights, which is by 32% more (1,220,595 passengers), as compared to the same period in 2017.

A high indicator of passenger traffic growth was recorded in all three international airports of Georgia:

During the Jan-May 2018 period, the Tbilisi International Airport serviced 1,327,544 passengers, which is by 32% more than for the same period of the previous year (1,005,584 passengers).

As regards the Kutaisi International Airport, its passenger traffic has increased significantly for the considering period, and the growth amounted to 20%. Thus, the airport in Kutaisi served 142,499 passengers for Jan-May 2017 and this figure comes to 171,064 passengers for Jan-May 2018.

The Batumi International Airport preserved still a record growth rate. During the Jan-May 2018 period, this airport served 109,516 passengers, which is by 51% more, as compared to the same period last year (72,512 passengers).

As regards other domestic airports, 2,150 passengers altogether were benefited by the airports of Mestia and Ambrolauri for Jan-May 2018. According to the data of these five months of 2018, 113 flights altogether have been operated to/from domestic/local airports.
