New flights to connect Georgia with Ukraine, Iran and Russia

The new Georgian airline, MyWay Airlines, will fly regularly to Ukraine, Russia and Iran and the first flight will be carried out en route Tbilisi, Georgia – Kharkov, Ukraine – Tbilisi on June 12, 2018 the Civil Aviation Agency under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia said, Sputnik Georgia writes.

Tbilisi – Kharkov flights will be operated twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, since June 12 through September 4, 2018. Batumi, Georgia – Kharkov – Batumi regular flights will be operated by this Georgian airline on Wednesdays and Saturdays since June 13 through September 29, 2018.

The Georgian air company will also operate its regular flights twice a week en route Tbilisi – Tehran, Iran, on Mondays and Thursdays since June 14 through October 25, 2018 and on Fridays en route Batumi – Tehran during the period from June 22 through October 26, 2018.

MyWay Airlines will fly from Tbilisi to Samara, Russia, twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Georgian airline will operate regular flights since June 23 through October 27, 2018.

The Civil Aviation Agency under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia has already issued permission for MyWay Airlines’ flights.

The flights will be carried out on Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia said.

MyWay Airlines received its aircraft operator’s certificate in January 2018. The air carrier made its first charter flight in Tehran in March 2018.

The new Georgian airline plans to fly to Moscow and St. Petersburg (Russia), Tel Aviv (Israel), Dubai (UAE), Kiev (Ukraine) and Minsk (Belarus).

MyWay Airlines was founded by the Hualing Group, China. In November 2017, two aircraft worth over US $ 43.4 million were imported from China to Georgia. So the air company’s fleet is represented by two Boeing 777 aircraft. The third one is expected in early July, and the fourth one – in December 2018.

Hualing Group carries out its large-scope projects in Georgia. It was engaged in building an Olympic village on the outskirts of Tbilisi for the Olympic Youth Sports Festival Tbilisi-2015 and to this day, it continues to build a large settlement on the outskirts of the city.

Hualing Group is engaged in production of timber, furniture production and banking, as the Chinese side owns 90% of the shares of Basisbank. 15 companies, members of the Hualing Group, currently operate in Georgia.

At present, Georgia has only one national air carrier, namely Georgian Airways (Airzena).
