Myway Airlines launches its Kharkov – Tbilisi flight

On Tuesday, June 12, 2018 Myway Airlines, Georgia, launched its first regular flight from Kharkov, Ukraine, to Georgia’s Tbilisi and Batumi after a four-year hiatus.

This was announced by Grigory Pomerantsev, Director General, Myway Airlines, at a briefing at the Kharkov International Airport, according to Ukrinform.

“This historic flight has been restored, as planes from Georgia to Kharkov flew for 40 consecutive years until 2014. And only in 2014, for objective reasons, they were temporarily suspended and restored now once again,” Mr. Pomerantsev said.

According to him, Myway Airlines is interested in attracting tourists from Kharkov to Georgia. Its shareholder, Hualing Group, China, intends to expand its routes not only to Ukraine, in particular to Kiev, but also to other countries of the world.

The one-way air ticket costs US $ 99 and roundtrip one – US $180, taking into account the class of service, business or economy. You can buy your air tickets at the Myway Airlines’ agency.

As it became known, 43 persons flew with the first flight from Kharkov to Georgia including one-third of passengers in persons of journalists, and others represented travel companies of Ukraine.

Today, this flight will be in Georgia in the middle of the day, and tomorrow – in Batumi, after which the participants will return to Kharkov.

Mr. Pomerantsev said when answering the Ukrinform reporter’s question, that the Chinese holding, which became the co-founder of the Georgian air company, is a well-known investor. It is developing a number of projects in Georgia, including the free economic zone near Kutaisi, the construction of hotels, cultural institutions and tourism. Since 2007, the Hualing Group has been operating in the tourism market in the Caucasus. Therefore, within the framework of cooperation, the Chinese company became a shareholder of Myway Airlines.
