ICAO audit revealed gaps, elimination of which requires KGS 15 million

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) conducted an audit in 2016 and revealed inconsistencies in the performance of supervisory and certified functions by the agency, said inspector of the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) of Kyrgyzstan Jenishbek Usenamanov.

At present, the CAA needs 15 staff units to implement its functions, which were prescribed by the Air Code, with an increase in wages by KGS 15,220.7 thousand (USD 1 = KGS 68.4), as well as deductions to the Social Fund by KGS 2.292 million.

Mr. Usenamanov informed that the civil aviation industry consists of 13 operating airlines, the Kyrgyz Air Navigation State Enterprise, Manas International Airport OJSC (unites all airports in Kyrgyzstan), as well as the Aviation College.

Of these 13 airlines, one air company, Air Kyrgyzstan, is a joint-stock company with 100% state share, the rest are all private, he added.
