Dushanbe International Airport announces number and main causes of delayed flights

On July 11, 2018, the Dushanbe International Airport (DIA) summed up the results of its activities for Jan-Jun 2018. During this period, the DIA served 611.5 thousand passengers, which is by 0.6% more, as compared to this period of 2017, Jamilya Huseynova, Spokesperson of DIA, told Asia Plus News Agency, Tajikistan.

According to her, the total number of sent and received cargo and mail amounted 1,677 metric tons, which is by 360 metric tons or 27.3% more, as compared to H1 2017. In addition, the airport served 192.6 metric tons of agricultural products accepted for commercial warehouses.

According to the Spokesperson, 495 cases of flight delays have been recorded for the H1 2018.

“The main reasons for flight delays include the following: untimely departures of aircraft from departure airports – 403 cases, airlines’ interference – 35 cases, adverse weather conditions – 20 cases, and others,” Mrs. Huseynova stressed.

She noted that currently 13 airlines including six airlines from CIS, five ones from Turkey, UAE, China, Iran and two Tajik air carriers, namely Somon Air and Tajik Air operate their flights through Dushanbe International Airport.

From Dushanbe airport, aircraft fly to 12 cities of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, China, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, India and Dubai.
