ICAO approves Aviation Safety Improvement Plan in Kazakhstan

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has approved an Aviation Safety Improvement Plan, developed by the Civil Aviation Committee (CAC) under the Ministry of Investment and Development, Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports.

“The Civil Aviation Committee under the Ministry of Investment and Development, Kazakhstan, has developed and approved a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) for the results of the ICAO audit, as regards aviation safety, conducted in late 2017. The CAP was forwarded to ICAO Headquarters (Montreal, Canada), where the ICAO Aviation Security Audit Section approved and recognized it as positive,” the CAC message in Facebook reads.

The CAC also clarifies that the official letter of ICAO notes Kazakhstan’s progress in meeting safety standards and facilitation requirements for the Convention on International Civil Aviation, as well as high results in implementing critical elements of the state system for controlling aviation security/safety.

“In 2017, Kazakhstan passed an audit from ICAO. According to the final assessment, the country has shown 83% of the implementation of ICAO standards and recommended practices, and this indicator is by 21% higher than the previous audit of ICAO,” the CAC added.
