Buta Airways fleet to increase up to eight Embraer 190 aircraft

Buta Airways, the Azerbaijani low-cost air carrier, which is a part of the structure of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL) will soon receive two Embraer 190s of Brazilian production, said Nazim Samedov, director of this air company, Interfax Azerbaijan writes.

“Buta Airways recently launched two new flights to the Turkish cities of Alanya and Izmir. In the near future, the arrival of two new Embraer 190s is expected, which will allow the air company to continue work on expanding its air route network”, Mr. Samedov noted.

According to him, during the first year of the air company’s activities, there was a high demand for Buta Airways flights among the local population and foreign tourists.

Buta Airways was founded in December 2016 and started operations in September 2017. At the moment, the low-cost air carrier operates its flights to some foreign countries with flights from the airports of Baku and Ganja, Azerbaijan, to 10 international destinations in Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia, Iran and Bulgaria. Loading of airplanes on the majority of flights makes not less than 85%.

Buta Airways carried 305 thousand passengers for Jan-Aug 2018.

According to the data published on the Buta Airways website, at present, the Buta Airways fleet includes six Embraer 190s.
