Over thousand flights canceled in the United States, as Florence Hurricane approaches

Almost 1.4 thousand flights were canceled at airports in the southeast of the U.S. due to the approach of the Florence hurricane to the U.S. coast, the USA Today reports with reference to the data from FlightAware.

According to this source, most of the regional airports that are in the coastal areas including the airports in Charleston, South Carolina, and Wilmington, North Carolina, are closed on Thursday. As expected, they will not work until Saturday.

The Florence hurricane, raging in the Atlantic Ocean, has already weakened to the second category of five and moves northwestward to the U.S. coast at a speed of about 27 kilometers per hour. It is expected the hurricane will reach the South Carolina coast on Friday​​. In connection with the hurricane, the state of emergency was announced in North and South Carolina, Virginia and Maryland, as well as in Washington. Over 10 million people are on the path of this hurricane, which is the most dangerous one in this season.
