Residents of Taraz to be able to fly to Sharm el-Sheikh

A solemn event, timed to the launching of the new flight, was held at the Aulie-Ata International Airport, Taraz, Kazakhstan, according to the Kazinform News Agency, Kazakhstan.

The airport explained that, starting from October 29, 2018 Yekaterinburg, Russia – Taraz, Kazakhstan – Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt regular flights will be launched. SCAT Airlines, Kazakhstan, will operate these flights.

The Yekaterinburg’s Koltsovo Airport – Taraz flight time is about three hours. On this air route, Boeing 757-200 airliners with their carrying capacities of up to 235 passengers will operate. Travel time on the Taraz – Sharm el-Sheikh air route will be about five hours, as 3,719 km to be covered. Docking in Taraz for passengers flying from Yekaterinburg is one hour and 20 minutes.

SCAT Airlines flies to Egypt from Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Kostanai, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Atyrau, Uralsk, Aktobe, Karaganda and also from Taraz now. This is one of the largest air carriers in Kazakhstan, having over 20 aircraft in its fleet, including long-haul ones. The airline operates more than 80 domestic and international flights.

The Aulie-Ata International Airport in Taraz is located 15 km from the city center. From here, there are such domestic flights, as Taraz – Almaty and Taraz – Astana, as well as international Taraz – Moscow one.

Recall, founded in 2008, the Aulie-Ata International Airport was reconstructed in 2013, when its runway was expanded. Since then, the airport has been able to take all types of modern aircraft, including heavy Boeings, Airbuses, as well as all types of helicopters. In addition, a new terminal building with its area of 5.5 thousand square meters was built, which is capable of serving up to 200 passengers per hour.
