Svetlana Maliuk leads AMADEUS regional team to work with airlines in Russia and CIS

Amadeus, the leading provider of information technology for the global tourism and transport industry, has announced the appointment of Svetlana Maliuk to the position of Head of Sales and Account Management. Svetlana will be based in the Moscow office of Amadeus and will oversee commercial work with airlines in Russia and the CIS.

The priority task will be to strengthen and develop strategic partnerships with airlines, representing the interests and needs of the region.

Christian Baye, Regional Director for Airline Operations in Central and Southern Europe, Amadeus said, “Russia and the CIS are important tourism markets with a rich heritage and vast geographical coverage. Ms. Maliuk graduated from the State University of Management in Moscow with a degree in International Transportation Management and has many years of experience in the aviation and tourism industry. He speaks English, Swedish and German.

Before joining Amadeus for five years, Ms. Maliuk managed the TAL Aviation office in Moscow. Her tasks were to ensure the work of local offices, representative functions and marketing promotion in Russia and the CIS 10 largest foreign airlines, hotels and tour operators, including GSA American Airlines, Qantas Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Bangkok Airways, Philippine Airlines, Air Europa, Wyndham Hotel Group, Tour East Global DMC in Southeast Asia.

In the period 1998-2014, Ms. Maliuk occupied various positions in the offices of the airlines Scandinavian Airlines, Emirates, airBaltic, fulfilling the tasks of operational management, ground handling, sales, financial management. During seven years, Ms. Maliuk had headed the work of the Russian office of airBaltic. Under her leadership, airBaltic threefold increase the frequency of flights from Moscow, made a change in the tariff model, introduced additional services and reached the leading positions in the number of passengers carried from Russia.
