Passenger traffic at airports in Georgia increased by 25%

According to the Georgian Airports Association, in January 2019, Georgian airports served a total of 324,554 passengers. This figure is 25% higher than last year’s similar data – 259,612 passengers.

In January 2019, an increase in passenger traffic was observed at all three international airports in the country. Tbilisi International Airport handled 252,178 passengers in January, which is by 13 percent more than in January last year.

At the same time, in January 2019, the passenger traffic at Kutaisi International Airport increased by 112% and reached 55,895 passengers. The upward trend continues at Batumi International Airport. In January 2019, 15,973 passengers used the services of the Batumi International Airport, which is by 52% more than during the same period last year.

Also, according to the Georgian Airports Association, the growth in passenger traffic is also recorded at domestic airports. As regards the airport in Mestia named after Tamar Mepe, this figure increased by 18% and amounted to 401 passengers. 107 people used the Ambrolauri airport last month, which is by 365% more than in the same period last year.
