Kazakhstan to be provided with domestic aviation fuel by 80%

Kazakhstan will increase production of aviation fuel and its volume will cover 80% of the demand this year, the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kassymbek announced.

“Last year, 63-65% of aviation fuel in Kazakhstan was of Kazakhstani production. This year, we are applying for approximately 850-900 thousand needs per year, the Ministry of Energy confirms to us that they will supply about 80% of jet fuel from Kazakhstani plants. During the year, we expect that this issue will be completely resolved,” the Minister said at a press conference in the Government.

According to him, the industry is growing annually, the number of transported passengers is growing, therefore, of course, more and more fuel is needed, transit has increased very significantly.

“But the reconstruction of oil refineries gives its results, today we see that, compared to 2017, our three plants produced much more jet fuel,” he stressed.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Yerbolat Dossayev said that Kazakhstan would be provided with its own gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel and bitumen starting from this year.
