AIRBUS net profit increased by almost 30% in 2018

The net profit of the Airbus Aircraft Manufacturing Concern increased by 29% in 2018 and amounted to EUR 3.054 billion, the company said in its press release.

Earnings per share in the reporting period amounted to EUR 3.94 against EUR 3.05 a year earlier. Revenue has increased by 8% for the past year and amounted EUR 63.707 billion.

In the Q4 2018, the company received a net profit of EUR 1.601 billion, which is almost 1.7 times higher than a year ago. Earnings per share amounted to EUR 2.06 against EUR 1.24 in the Q4 2017. Quarterly revenues increased by 11% – up to EUR 23.286 billion.

At the end of 2018, the Airbus’ net orders for commercial aircraft amounted to 747 airliners against 1,100 aircraft in 2017. The total volume of the company’s orders as of December 31, 2018 amounted to 7,577 aircraft. In 2019, the company plans to supply 880-890 airliners to its customers.

Airbus is one of the largest aerospace and defense enterprises in the world. It consists of divisions, such as Airbus SAS, which is engaged in the release of passenger aircraft, Airbus Defense and Space and Airbus Helicopters. As of December 31, 2018, the number of employees was 133,671 people.
