Baku reports on delayed flights from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport

The passenger plane that was flying en route Moscow, Russia – Baku, Azerbaijan arrived late from the Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport, another flight is delayed, Heydar Aliyev International Airport informed RIA Novosti, Russia.

The Aeroflot’s Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, which was flying en route Moscow – Murmansk in the evening on May 5, 2019 urgently returned to Sheremetyevo and made crash-landing after 28 minutes of flight. The plane managed to land only at the second attempt due to adverse weather conditions. When landing, it struck down the landing gear and the engines caught fire. According to the latest data, 41 people died as a result of this air crash.

“Because of the incident with the Sukhoi Superjet 100C aircraft, only one runway operates at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow. For this reason, the SU 1852 flight from Moscow to Baku arrived late. The Aeroflot plane arrived in Baku in the morning at 07.18 am (06.18 am Moscow time). There will be a delay in another flight from Moscow to Baku,” the airport said.
