China’s commercial traffic fleet owns over 3,600 aircraft

There is a permanent rapid growth of the China’s civil aviation sector with its commercial fleet of aircraft, which has already reached 3,639 aircraft by the end of 2018, according to the statement made by the Civil Aviation Authority of China, Xinhua reported.

Their number was by 343 planes more, as compared to figures at the end of 2017.

In 2018, Chinese air carriers completed a total of 11.53 million flight hours, an increase is 8.9 percent.

In particular, 9.34 million hours were operated on domestic air routes, which is by 8.4 percent more year on year. Over 2.19 million hours were committed on international air routes with an increase of 10.8 percent in annual terms.

At present, China is the second largest civil aviation market in the world. According to the forecast of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), by the mid-2020s, China promises to become the world’s largest civil aviation market.
