Finnair permanently increases its flight destinations to China

Finnair is expanding its network of Chinese destinations with code sharing agreements with China Southern Airlines and Juneyao Air. Cooperation with China Southern Airlines includes the Helsinki – Guangzhou air route and selected destinations of the Chinese air carrier, the Finnish air carrier informed.

Starting since June 1, 2019, Finnair passengers will be able to fly to five cities in China, namely to Changsha, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Sanya and Wenzhou on China Southern Airlines flights with connections to Guangzhou. Currently, Finnair flies to Terminal No. 2 of Guangzhou Airport, the home airport for China Southern Airlines. This terminal is specially designed for transit air traffic, which will provide passengers of code-sharing flights with comfortable connections with domestic Chinese destinations.

The codeshare agreement with Juneyao Air applies to Helsinki – Shanghai and Helsinki – Nanjing flights, as well as a number of destinations in China. Beginning June 28, 2019, eight new air routes in China will become available for Finnair passengers. Joint flights with Juneyao Air will be made with connections at Shanghai Airport (flights to Harbin, Shenyang, Qingdao, Dalian, Chongqing, Kunming, Fuzhou, Xi’an, Xiamen) and Nanjing (flights to Zhangjiajie, Chongqing, Xi’an), Finnair noted.

China Southern Airlines passengers will have access to popular European destinations served by Finnair: these include Amsterdam, Billund, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, London, Paris, Riga and Stockholm. Junenao Air passengers will be offered Finnair flights from Shanghai to Helsinki, as well as from Helsinki to Ivalo, Rovaniemi, Kemi, Kuopio and Oulu – this opens up additional opportunities for traveling to the cities of Lapland, which are very popular with Chinese tourists.
