Explosives searched at Kazakhstan’s Almaty International Airport

The Transport Police Department carries out its inspection after receiving a message to an email address about the possible presence of some explosives at the Almaty International Airport, according to the Kazinform News Agency, Kazakhstan.

“On June 4, 2019, the police dispatcher of the Almaty International Airport received a message from the airport dispatcher at 03:00 pm, stating that an email was received at 02:58 pm stating the following: “There is an explosive substance at the airport”, the message reads.

Upon receipt of this information, all the operational response services were notified.

“The sappers of the Almaty Police Department found no any explosives. At this time, the airport is operating normally. An inspection is underway,” the Transport Police Department noted.
