Kazakhstan’s Air Astana will not fly to India’s New Delhi until June 14, 2019

Air Astana will not operate its flights from the Kazakh capital city and Almaty to New Delhi, India, until June 14, 2019. Cancellation of flights is extended due to the fact that the airspace between Pakistan and India is closed, according to the Air Astana’s website.

Previously, Air Astana was forced to suspend its flights to New Delhi on April 11 – 30, 2019. The Civil Aviation Committee noted that they continue to monitor the situation, and as soon as the airspace is open for flights, the airline will resume these air routes.

The airspace between Pakistan and India was closed at the end of February 2019 due to incidents in Kashmir. The question of Kashmir’s identity remains a key issue in Indo-Pakistani relations.
