UAV neutralized over Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Defense

Today, an unmanned aerial vehicle (quadcopter) was discovered and neutralized over the territory of a checkpoint of the Ministry of Defense, Kazinform reported with reference to the Ministry’s Press Service.

Military police that protects the building detained the UAV owners. They were transferred to the police department of the Yesil district, Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Defense once again reminds owners of drones of the need to strictly comply with the rules for using airspace, as well as the procedure for using drones, which is regulated by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Using the Airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Activities of Aviation.” Unauthorized use of UAVs over military facilities is a violation of Article 563 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Administrative Offenses” and this entails a fine of 10 MCI for individuals and 20 MCI for officials.

Flights of drones over protected military facilities in accordance with clause 3 of Article 33 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Using the Airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Activities of Aviation” must be agreed with the State Guard Service. For violation of the law, drones are neutralized with special means of suppression, and the owners are brought to administrative responsibility.
