Airport in Kazakhstan’s Taraz starts operating as CargoHub

For the first time in history, Aulie-Ata International Airport, Taraz, Kazakhstan, is hosting a Mongolian Airways Cargo plane to carry out a cargo flight program in cooperation with SCAT Airlines.

The largest Mongolian air carrier named Mongolian Airways Cargo is the first air carrier to join the joint program of SCAT Airlines and Aulie-Ata International Airport to develop cargo transportation. This is the first big step towards the further development of freight transportation from Iran, Turkey and Western China with a gradual increase in the volume of e-commerce products and postal items.

Basing a cargo plane at Taraz Airport will open up new opportunities for implementing the plan to create the largest cargo hub at the airport of Taraz, which will undoubtedly expand cargo transportation opportunities throughout the southern part of Kazakhstan. Cargo transportation and logistics are the artery of the economy. The creation of a freight hub, in addition to the existing export of agricultural products, meat and livestock, will open up even greater opportunities to both import and export from Kazakhstan of other goods requiring fast and reliable delivery, such as medical equipment, auto parts, exotic products, machinery, electronics and etc.

Aulie-Ata International Airport is one of the closest air links between Europe, Central Asia and the countries of Southeast Asia. “According to its technical characteristics, the availability of aerodrome equipment and the qualifications of its personnel, the airport in Taraz is capable to take all types of transport aircraft, and today this makes the issue of intensive development of the cargo infrastructure of Kazakhstan very urgent,” said Daulet Khamzin, Chairperson of the Board, Aulie-Ata International Airport.
