Drone intercepted over military unit in Karaganda region, Kazakhstan

On August 10, 2019 a quick reaction group detained drone operators in the Karaganda region, as their drone was operating an unauthorized flight and survey objects of a military unit, Kazinform reported with reference to the Ministry of Defense, Kazakhstan.

“A quadcopter was shooting objects of the military unit and the adjacent territory. However, it was established that there were no applications for flights and aerial photography in this area. The detainees, UAVs and materials were transferred to the Internal Affairs Department, Saransk Area. National security agencies and transport prosecutors will be informed about an unauthorized flight and aerial photography,” the Ministry said.

The Ministry of Defense recalled that UAV flights and their aerial photography of objects and terrain should be carried out in accordance with the legislation and the Rules regulating the use of airspace in Kazakhstan.
