First charter flight Vilnius – Batumi completed

Passengers of the first charter flight en route Vilnius, Lithuania – Batumi, Georgia, were solemnly greeted at the airport in Batumi where shows with the participation of folk artists and tasting of Georgian wine where organized, Sputnik Georgia reported citing the Tourism and Resorts Department, Adjara, Georgia.

180 tourists arrived on a charter flight to Georgia, 95% of whom are going to have a rest in Batumi and Kobuleti.

Vilnius – Batumi flights will be operated by GetJet Airlines once a week, on Mondays, until the end of September 2019.

“It is important for us that after charter flights to Tallinn, Estonia, Vilnius has also joined to the charter flight programme to fly to Batumi. In this case, flights will continue until the end of September, but it is encouraging that the air company plans to increase frequency of these flights. By next year, we will have charter flights from Lithuania within the entire summer tourist season,” said Tinatin Zoidze, Chairperson, Tourism and Resorts Department.

Georgia and Lithuania established diplomatic relations on September 16, 1994. Countries cooperate in such sectors, as economics, culture, education, agriculture, and health.
