New passenger terminal temporarily launched at Tajikistan’s Khujand International Airport

The new passenger terminal at Khujand International Airport, Tajikistan, began its operations on October 1, 2019.

Yusuf Mayusufov, Spokesperson, Khujand International Airport, said, “In order to create more favourable conditions for passengers, as regards meeting and seeing off citizens in the autumn-winter period, the leadership of Khujand International Airport OJSC has introduced temporary operation of the new passenger terminal building. This is not yet an official opening, but a temporary one.”

He noted that necessary conditions have already been created in the new terminal’s waiting room for passengers and their pre-flight stay there including their information support.

“Now passengers can enter and be in the new hall before check-in,” he said.

There are plans as well to gradually create other necessary conditions for passengers in the new building.

Construction work in this terminal building was launched in 2016. After completion of construction, the terminal building will be able to handle up to 500 passengers per hour.
