Kyrgyzstan celebrates Civil Aviation Day

Kyrgyzstan’s Civil Aviation Day is celebrated annually on October 7.

Civil aviation of Kyrgyzstan is an important component of the industrial and social infrastructure, its efficient and sustainable development and functioning is a necessary condition for ensuring national security and sustainable economic growth.

Manas International Airport (MIA) OJSC is one of the most important transport enterprises of Kyrgyzstan. The structure of MIA includes 5 international and 6 regional airports.

Manas, Osh, Issyk-Kul, Karakol and Batken airports have the status of international airports.

In 2018, the volume of national air transportation of passengers amounted to 1.4 million people, of which 57.1 % were international and 42.9% domestic. Passenger turnover of air transport amounted to more than 2 billion passenger-kilometers.

Income from passenger transportation on airlines amounted to KGS 10.1 billion, including KGS 8.5 billion from international transportation and KGS 1.6 billion from domestic transportation.

With the development of the tourism industry, passenger traffic on international airlines has increased. About 3 million people were served in 2014, and in 2018 the passenger flow reached 3.5 million people, which is by 16.7 % more.

At present, Air Manas LLC, Avia Traffic Company LLC and TEZ JET LLC domestic airline companies provide passenger transportation services on domestic and international airlines.

At the end of 2018, the air-break consisted of 13 aircraft.

The average annual number of employees in the field of air transport in 2018 amounted to 1.3 thousand people, and the average monthly salary of one employee in the same area made more than KGS 59 thousand (USD 1 = KGS 69.74).
