Uzbekistan could not resume charter flights with Ukraine

The resumption of Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Kiev, Ukraine – Tashkent flights did not happen. According to Trend, a company representative told RIA Novosti.

Some users who bought their airline tickets for a flight reported in social networks that flight organizers began to process a refund.

“We concluded all the necessary documents with the Ukrainian side, the flight schedule was approved, the sale of air tickets began. But before opening the message, we suddenly received a letter from Kiev stating that the permission was canceled,” an employee of the Charter Flights Group said.

The company said that at the moment its management is in Kiev and is in talks with the aviation authorities of Ukraine.

“We hope that flights will resume,” the source said.

Uzbekistan Airways also clarified that under the terms of charter flights, the airline provides airplanes and crew for flights, and all other issues are with the charter organizer.

Recall that in September 2019 it became known that Uzbekistan Airways resumes Tashkent – Kiev – Tashkent flights since October 5, 2019.

Flights to Kiev have been suspended due to price dumping by the Ukrainian airline since May 5, 2015. Ukraine International Airlines has also ceased its flights from the Ukrainian side. It was the only passenger flight between countries.

In June 2014, the aviation authorities of Uzbekistan and Ukraine signed an intergovernmental agreement that established slot parity – two flights a week – between the airlines of the two countries.
