Plane flies from Tashkent to Yekaterinburg and makes unplanned landing

The A320 plane was flying from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to Yekaterinburg, Russia, and made an unplanned landing at Tyumen airport, Russia.

The A320 aircraft, flying en route Tashkent – Yekaterinburg, flight No. HY661, made an unplanned landing at the alternate airfield in Tyumen, Uzbekistan Airways reported.

It is noted the closure of the Koltsovo International Airport in Yekaterinburg for a technical reason caused this landing.

“There are 103 people on board. After the Koltsovo airport opens, our plane will fly to the destination airport,” the statement said.

Yesterday, the An-12 aircraft made an emergency landing at Kiltsovo, RIA Novosti reported. According to preliminary information, 20 people on board remained alive. They have already been evacuated.

It is reported that due to a malfunction, the crew was unable to release the landing gear with several attempts, and the aircraft “landed on its belly” onto the foamy runway, one explained the reasons for what happened.

The press service of Ural Airlines has informed that Koltsovo will not work until 11:30 Moscow time.

As a result of the emergency landing at the airport of Yekaterinburg, all takeoff and landing operations were temporarily suspended here.
