Dushanbe International Airport serves over 1 million passengers

1 million and 58 thousand passengers were served by Dushanbe International Airport (DIA), Tajikistan, for Jan-Sep 2019, the airport’s press service said.

According to this source, the total number of sent and received cargo and mail through the airport’s cargo terminal amounted 1,919 metric tons.

During this period, 677 cases of flight delays were recorded, which is 200 cases less than in the same period last year. It should be noted that the main reasons for flight delays are – untimely departures of aircraft from departure airports, airline interference and adverse environmental conditions.

In order to improve the quality of service for passengers, in particular, participants in international summits, international conferences and forums, all airport ground equipment, including motor ladders, transporters, luggage tractors, buses and other transport mechanisms and special equipment, were thoroughly repaired and put in order.

Also, for the meeting of high-ranking guests, two modern auto-ramps were purchased. All ground equipment of the airport is ready for work in the autumn-winter period 2019-2020.

To date, 15 airlines operate flights from Dushanbe International Airport, of these, five are foreign airlines registered in Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, China and Iran; eight airlines from the CIS countries and two Tajik air carriers, namely Somon Air and Tajik Air. From Dushanbe International Airport, aircraft operate flights to 13 cities of the Russian Federation, as well as to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, China, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, India and the United Arab Emirates.
