Passenger traffic at Georgian airports increased by 5.4%

According to the data for Jan Sep 2019, 4,139,955 passengers used the services of Georgian airports, which is by 5,4% more than for the same period in 2018.

At the same time, growth is by 10% lower than it was scheduled at the beginning of the year, as this was caused by Russian aviation sanctions, and as a result, a significant reduction in traffic from Russia. According to forecasts made at the beginning of the year, passenger traffic growth was to reach 14-15%.

As regards the reporting period, the Tbilisi International Airport carried 2,971,398 passengers, which is by 0,68% more than for the same period in 2018, the Batumi International Airport – 524,068 (+ 2%), and Kutaisi International Airport – 629,618 (+ 39.7%).
