Wizz Air leads at the Georgian civil aviation market in terms of passenger numbers

According to the percentage of airlines operating in the Georgian civil aviation market, when considering the Jan – Sep 2019 reporting period, Wizz Air is still the leader. This low-cost airline occupies 15% of the market. Turkish Airlines and Georgian Airways stand the second and third, respectively, and each of them has 11% market share.

By the number / percentage of passengers on scheduled and reusable charter flights, the Top-10 in the Georgian civil aviation market include the following air companies: Wizz Air – 592 988 passengers, 15%; Turkish Airlines – 443 932 passengers 11%; Georgian Airways – 435 208 passengers, 11%; Ural Airlines – 190,341 passengers 5%; Pobeda Airlines – 180,684 passengers 4%; Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) – 168 672 passengers 4%; Fly Dubai – 166,259 passengers 4%; Pegasus Airlines – 135,494 passengers 3%; Air Arabia – 107,535 passengers, 3%; SkyUp Airlines – 115,070 passengers, 3%.

The percentage ratio between Georgian and foreign airlines is as follows – 12% of the market are covered by Georgian airlines (488,317 passengers) and 88% – by foreign ones (3,569,002 passengers).
