Uzbekistan Airways plane lands in Kazan due to passenger malaise

An Uzbekistan Airways plane was flying from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to St. Petersburg, Russia, on Thursday and it made an emergency landing in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia, due to a deterioration in passenger health, TASS reported with reference to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia for Tatarstan.

“On Thursday, a flight controller of Kazan International Airport named after G. Tukai reported that at 10:40 am Moscow time the Uzbekistan Airways’ Boeing 767, which was flying en route Tashkent – St. Petersburg, made an emergency landing because one of the passengers felt ill,” the Ministry noted.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, at 11:20 am Moscow time a citizen of Malaysia was taken to the Republican Clinical Hospital, and at 11:39 am Moscow time the plane continued its flight along the air route.
