When will the final version of the Nur Sultan airport code be accepted?

The adoption of the final version of the code for the Nur Sultan International Airport is expected at the beginning of next year, the Civil Aviation Committee (CAC) under the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, Kazakhstan, reported, according to the Kazinform News Agency, Kazakhstan.

“In connection with the discussion of the new code of the capital’s airport in the media, we want to inform you that the procedures are currently undergoing for the entry into force of amendments to IATA Resolution 763, which require some time, and the final result is expected in January 2020. These changes were supported in Warsaw, Poland, on October 14, 2019, at the IATA Passenger Standards Meeting with the participation of all IATA members,” the statement said.

The CAC specified that several options for the new code are being discussed together with IATA.

“The adoption of the final version is expected early next year. We ask everyone to wait for the completion of the procedure,” the CAC noted.

Recall that on October 14, IATA approved the CAC amendments to change the code of the capital’s airport.

Earlier, Beibut Atamkulov, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, commented on the planned change of the Nur-Sultan International Airport’s code.

Note the three-letter TSE code is currently assigned to the Nur Sultan International Airport.
