Kazakhstan to begin supplying helicopters of its own assembly to Tajikistan

Kazakhstan will start supplying helicopters of its own assembly to Tajikistan, the Information and Analytical Center (ia-centr.ru) reported.

On October 28, 2019 in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, the keys were handed over to the first Kazakh-made helicopter, which opens the beginning of exports to Tajikistan. Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering LLP, a joint Kazakh-French-German enterprise, is a manufacturer of this helicopter. Somon Air, Tajikistan, is a buyer.

The H125 helicopter purchased by the airline has high maneuverability, excellent visibility and a low level of vibration in the cabin. It is designed for five passenger seats, and the air company plans to use it primarily for business purposes and tourism.

Sukhrob Juraev, First Deputy Director General, Somon Air, said, “This helicopter is the first milestone for sovereign Tajikistan to acquire such a famous manufacturer as partners. I am sure that this helicopter will serve the development of both tourism and the airline. We do not even doubt its operational reliability. This is confidence in the future, the development of regional flights and, of course, long-term cooperation with Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering.”

According to Kuanysh Bishimov, Chairperson of Board, Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering LLP, the company is currently negotiating with Tajikistan to further build capacity up to 5-10 helicopters.
