Airbus net profit increased 1.5 times in January – September 2019

The Airbus Group’s net profit in January – September 2019 increased by 1.5 times, as compared to the same period last year, and amounted to EUR 2.186 billion, Prime reported with reference to the company’s financial statements.

Earnings per share amounted EUR 2.81, as compared to EUR 1.88 a year earlier. Revenues have increased by 14% for nine months – up to EUR 46.17 billion.

According to the results for the Q3 2019, the company’s net profit grew by 3% and reached EUR 989 million. Earnings per share were € 1.27 versus € 1.23 in the Q3 2018. Quarterly revenue decreased by 1% in annual terms and amounted EUR 15.3 billion.

For nine months, the company delivered 571 aircraft to its customers, increasing its last year’s figure by 13%. On October 18, 2019, the U.S. Trade Representation imposed import duties on Airbus commercial aircraft in the United States. Despite this, according to the results of the year, the company predicts the number of deliveries within 860 aircraft according to the issued release.

In January-September, the company received orders for 127 aircraft. A year earlier, this figure was 256 aircraft.

Airbus is one of the largest aerospace and defense enterprises in the world. It consists of Airbus SAS units that produce passenger aircraft, Airbus Defense and Space and Airbus Helicopters. As of September 30, 2019, the number of employees was almost 136 thousand.
