Launch of flights from Turkmenistan to Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur postponed until February 2020

Turkmenistan Airlines’ flights to Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, are scheduled to begin in February 2020, the Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister for Transport, Communications and Industry Bayramgeldi Ovezov informed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on November 8, 2019.

Recall that on October 31, “Turkmenistan: The Golden Age” announced the resumption of flights to EU countries from the second half of December 2020. Since that time, the airline also planned to fly to Kuala Lumpur, Jeddah, Birmingham (UK) and Frankfurt (Germany).

The president has already reported on plans to launch flights to Jeddah this summer, as well as this was done back in the summer of 2017.

Earlier, Turkmenistan Airlines already operated their flights to Kuala Lumpur, but they were discontinued, as the same happened with the flights to Riga, Latvia, and Toronto, Canada.

“The Chronicles of Turkmenistan” wrote earlier, in 2016-2017, Turkmenistan Airlines repeatedly announced the appearance of various new flights, most of which were never launched.
