Additional flight to Kazakhstan’s Nur Sultan, Almaty to appear through capital of Qatar

Beibut Atamkulov, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development, Kazakhstan, told about new agreements with Qatar Airways, Kazinform reported.

“Literally this week, negotiations regarding flight to Doha ended. There will be seven Qatar Airways’ daily flights to Almaty and Nur Sultan each to be operated from mid-December 2019. In addition, there will be another seven cargo flights. This will allow our citizens to choose an additional air route through Doha, this will affect both prices and services,” Mr. Atamkulov said at a government meeting.

He also expressed his hope that the cost of services at the Almaty International Airport will correspond to the level of the countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

“And regarding the cost of services at the Almaty International Airport, we are committed to ensure that services are provided at the level established by the OECD, that is, it is an international or European standard that will allow for appropriate tariff formation, thus averaging prices for air carrier services”, the minister noted.

“This will probably be more predictable for air carriers for a certain period. All tariffs will be predictable,” the speaker added.

Today, Mr. Atamkulov also spoke about the negotiations regarding the sale of Almaty International Airport.
