Passenger traffic increrases at airports in Georgia’s Kutaisi and Batumi, whereas it decreases in Tbilisi

As regards the international airports in Kutaisi and Batumi, Georgia, the number of passengers increased, while at the Tbilisi International Airport, on the contrary, it decreased, the Public Television of Georgia reported.

Considering the Jan-Oct 2019 period, the number of international visitors at Tbilisi Airport decreased by 0.8%. Meanwhile, during this period, passenger traffic at Batumi Airport increased by 6.1%, and in Kutaisi – by 44.4%.

As for the Georgian National Tourism Administration’s data for October 2019, the number of visitors at the Tbilisi International Airport amounted to over 113.2 thousand people, which is by 18.1% more, as compared to the same period last year.

A positive figure was also recorded at the Batumi airport in October 2019. The number of international visits amounted to about 22 thousand, which is by 9% more, as compared to the same period last year.

The highest growth rate was recorded at Kutaisi airport. In October 2019, over 25.6 thousand international visits were recorded there, which is by 55.5% more, as compared to the same period last year.
