Georgia – Bologna direct flight launched

Hungarian low-cost airline named Wizz Air began operating its direct regular flights from Kutaisi International Airport, Georgia, to Bologna, Italy, Trend reports citing the Georgian airport.

The airline will fly twice a week.

In addition, since 2020, Wizz Air will add two more flights to be operated from Georgia to Nice, France and Cologne, Germany.

In early November 2019, Ryanair Airlines, the low-cost air carrier from Ireland began flying from Marseille, France and Bologna to Kutaisi International Airport.

Flights are carried out twice a week to both destinations.

Wizz Air appeared on the Georgian civil aviation market in 2012, and in September 2016, the air company’s first base in the region opened at the Kutaisi airport (Imereti region).

In 2018, the air company transported over 587.6 thousand passengers to Kutaisi and became the leader in the Georgian market.
