Kyrgyz Ministry of Transport: Russia’s Ural Airlines may launch Osh – Istanbul flight

Today, January 14, 2020, Kyrgyz parliamentarian Kaldarbek Baimuratov, during a meeting of the Parliament’s committee on transport, communications, architecture and construction, considered that the Osh – Istanbul flight should be resumed.

“Why aren’t you doing anything for this? You yourself said that demand from Osh for this flight is high, but passengers have to arrive in Bishkek first, live in a hotel and only then fly to Istanbul,” he said.

Jenishbek Nogoibev, Deputy Minister of Transport and Roads, said that more than four negotiations had already been conducted on this issue.

Turkish Airlines reported that they were satisfied with everything, but asked to reduce the cost of jet fuel, we agreed to reduce it by another 10%, but the Turkish side was not so interested in our proposal. Negotiations are underway with Ural Airlines to resume this flight; the air company expresses its interest.

If these airlines do not agree with our terms, then Air Manas will fly en route Osh – Istanbul,” he said.

According to him, this issue will be resolved at the end of May 2020.

At that moment, information was heard on the implementation of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Amendments to the Air Code of the Kyrgyz Republic” dated January 11, 2019 No. 3 (on the implementation of the Open Skies project).
