16 flights delayed at Nur Sultan Airport due to bad weather

Due to bad weather conditions, namely a severe snowstorm, as well as the inability to treat aircraft with anti-icing liquid for flight safety, a number of flights to / from Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport are delayed, Kazinform reported with reference to the Civil Aviation Committee (CAC), Kazakhstan.

According to the CAC, at the moment 16 flights are delayed on departure. These are 10 flights of Air Astana airline (Shymkent – two flights, Atyrau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Almaty – two flights, Aktobe – two flights, Dubai, Novosibirsk) and two SCAT Airlines’ flights (Almaty, Aktau), as well as Turkish Airlines’ flight flying from Nur Sultan to Istanbul, FlyDubai flying from Nur Sultan to Dubai, Lufthansa flying from Nur Sultan to Frankfurt, Aeroflot flying from Nur Sultan to Moscow.

18 flights are delayed on arrival. These are 11 flights of Air Astana (Almaty – three flights, Kyzylorda, Shymkent – two flights, Uralsk, Aktobe – two flights, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Novosibirsk), four flights of SCAT Airlines (Almaty, Aktau, Atyrau, Moscow), two Qazaq Air flights (Zhezkazgan, Ust-Kamenogorsk) and FlyArystan flight en route Nur-Sultan – Moscow.

The Civil Aviation Committee noted, in accordance with Article 86 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 15, 2010 “On the Use of the Airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Aviation Activities”, when a flight is canceled or delayed due to the fault of the carrier or delayed, canceled the flight due to late arrival of the aircraft When changing the route of carriage, the carrier is obliged to organize the following services for passengers at the departure and intermediate points:

1) providing (if available) a room for mother and child to a passenger with a child under the age of seven;

2) two telephone calls, including via international communication lines, lasting no more than five minutes or two messages by e-mail while waiting for the departure of the flight for more than two hours;

3) providing soft drinks while waiting for the departure of the flight for more than two hours;

4) providing hot meals while waiting for the departure of the flight for more than four hours and further:

– every six hours – in the daytime;

– every eight hours – at night;

5) accommodation in a hotel provided by the carrier, while waiting for the flight to depart for more than eight hours – during the day and more than six hours – at night;

6) delivery by transport provided by the carrier from the airport to the hotel and back in those cases when the hotel is provided at no additional charge.

If the flight is canceled or delayed due to the fault of the carrier for a period of more than ten hours, the carrier shall, at the choice of the passenger:

1) to ensure the transportation of a passenger by the nearest flight to the destination indicated on the ticket, with the provision of services in accordance with paragraph 1 of this article;

2) return to the passenger the full cost of the ticket.

If the above services are not provided, passengers are advised to contact the authorized body to bring airlines to administrative responsibility in accordance with Article 567 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 5, 2014 “On Administrative Offenses”.
