Buta Airways’ plane to land at Istanbul Airport in connection with incident at Sabiha Gokcen Airport

Due to the closure of Sabiha Gokcen Airport because of the aviation incident, passengers of the Buta Airways’ flight # J2-9103 will be delivered to Istanbul Airport, Buta Airways said in a statement, Trend reported.

“Due to the closure of Sabiha Gokcen Airport because of the incident, passengers flying with the Buta Airways’ flight # J2-9103 will be delivered to Istanbul Airport.

Passengers who were supposed to fly to Baku from Sabiha Gokcen Airport will be taken by bus to Istanbul’s new airport,” the statement said.

Note that the Pegasus Airlines’ Boeing 737-800 flying from Izmir to Istanbul made a hard landing on Wednesday at Sabiha Gokcen Airport and rolled out of the runway. As a result of the accident, it caught fire and collapsed into three parts. As a result of the accident, three people were killed, 179 were injured. There were 177 passengers and six crew members onboard.

Turkish Airlines also announced they have temporarily halted all flights to and from the airport.
