Turkmenistan Airlines delays its flights to Bangkok, Beijing and Kuala Lumpur due to coronavirus

Due to the coronavirus, Turkmenistan Airlines cancelled all flights to Bangkok, Beijing and Kuala Lumpur before April 1. Information about this appeared on the evening of February 6 in the air company’s twitter account.

On January 31, the airline’s website reported that flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur were suspended until March 29 “in connection with the decision of the Scientific Council at the Center for the Prevention of Importation of Athepatic Pneumonia Pathogens to Turkmenistan.”

On February 6, the company said that “for the removal of passengers from Bangkok, the airline will restore the Ashgabat – Bangkok – Ashgabat flight on February 9th.”

On January 20, a meeting of the Emergency Anti-Epidemic Commission on the prevention, spread and protection of the state’s territory from infectious diseases took place.

On January 30, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov personally held a meeting on the fight against viruses.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan also reported on strengthening measures to combat infection.

Turkmen Airlines’ flights to Beijing and Bangkok were canceled at least until April, Turkmennews reported on February 2.

On February 3, Turkmenistan closed the border with Uzbekistan.

Turkmen citizens returning from China are quarantined.

The new virus killed 638 people. According to Chinese authorities, more than 31 thousand people are infected.
