Bek Air claims increase

The Consumer Rights Protection Committee intends to supplement the lawsuit against Bek Air, Kazinform reports with reference to the Consumer Rights Protection Committee of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Kazakhstan.

Earlier, on January 31, 2020, the named Committee had already announced that it had filed a lawsuit against Bek Air. The claim was based on the appeal of 20 consumers to whom the company did not return the money for the purchased airline tickets.

Since the filing of the claim, the flow of appeals to the Committee has increased. Over 100 people called the Committee’s hotline. In addition, 32 applications were received to restore the rights of 57 consumers.

In total, as of February 10, 2020, the Committee received 44 applications for restoring the violated rights of 77 consumers for a total of KZT 2,15 million (USD 1 = KZT 379.04).

The Consumer Rights Protection Committee informs that consumers can contact for advice by calling the hotline 8 (7172) 74-98-32, 74-98-36.

Applications are also accepted at the Committee’s mailing address: Nur-Sultan, Mәңgilik El Avenue, 8, House of Ministries, 2 entrance.

Also, the appeal can be sent through the e-government portal (egov.kz).

The application is filled out according to the model, which can be requested by calling the “hot line” or downloaded on the Committee’s website at https://beta.egov.kz/memleket/entities/mti-kzpp?lang=en

In addition, it is important to attach copies of fiscal receipts or other supporting documents, air tickets and identity documents.
