Uzbek authorities instruct forming five new airlines

Five new resident airlines may appear in Uzbekistan, reports referring to the draft State Program for 2020.

The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the State Committee for Tourism and a number of other departments were instructed to create five new airlines by April 1, 2020. This will increase the frequency of flights on existing air routes and launch new destinations. As a result of this work, there are plans that the total number of flights operated by Uzbek airlines will increase by 2,800.

In addition, it was entrusted to launch ten new international flights in “Open Sky” mode at each international airport in Uzbekistan. This work is planned to be completed before the beginning of the summer of 2021.

Another important point is to increase the number of countries, for whose Uzbekistan will introduce a visa-free mode.

The document also instructed to approve a set of measures to reduce the cost of servicing aircraft of foreign airlines at domestic airports by 30-50%, to optimize rates and tariffs for the transportation of passengers and goods.

Recall that earlier it became known about the emergence of one new airline named Humo Air. It will operate domestic flights in Uzbekistan.
