Airbus net loss amounted to almost $ 1.5 billion in 2019

Net loss of the aircraft manufacturing corporation Airbus in 2019 amounted to € 1.36 billion ($ 1.48 billion). This is evidenced by the company’s materials published on Thursday, Trend reports with reference to TASS.

At the end of 2018, Airbus reported net profit of € 3 billion ($ 3.3 billion). At the same time, revenue over the past year, as compared to 2018, increased by 11% and amounted to € 70.5 billion ($ 76.7 billion). Airbus CEO Guillaume Fori said in a statement that the company was able to achieve significant success thanks to the supply of commercial aircraft. “In 2020, our goal will be to strengthen the corporate culture, improve the work process and adjust the cost structure to improve financial performance,” he added.

According to the Agency France Presse (AFP), one of the reasons for the Airbus’s losses was the decision to pay € 3.6 billion ($ 3.9 billion) under agreements to end corruption investigations in several countries (France, USA and Great Britain).
